The 790 community generally believes the clutch problems are due to a lack of lubrication and possibly because the oil filters are not picking up small amounts of debris that is then blocking the oil jet lubricating the clutch, however KTM REFUSES to engage with any of the owners who have had problems, making a resolution impossible to determine.
i trust the 15k km/9k miles intervals of my 790 - i am at 6700km right now with mine - did a oil+filter change at 6400km (rode it through winter and had it stand in -°C during the day and then ride it home etc.,) chain didnt need adjustment yet - so yeah i trust it, i even think the 7500km/4600miles intervals of the 390 were too short. 2.

There are a few things at 9,300 miles that were not on the list for the initial service, but what I would call 'major' service (valve check and change plugs) is at 18,600 miles. I am surprised at the 9,300 mile oil change interval. But it does call for it every year anyway.

The Apex Pro 6500 cartridges are designed to be drop-in replacements for the 790 Duke’s OEM WP units. As with the stock cartridges, the compression damping is handled by the left fork leg, and the rebound is managed by the right, giving complete separation of the two circuits. Unlike the OEM units, the 6500s also include preload adjustment.
KTM 690 Enduro R spec; Engine oil: The manual specifies Motorex Power Synthetic 4T 10W/50, or another SAE 10W-50 fully synthetic engine oil that meets JASO T903 MA2 spec, e.g. Motul 7100 10W-50.
