Hello dodso!!! My November 2020 Ford Focus Ecoblue 1,5 lt with the 120hp has a blue cap next to diesel refuelling hole that writes 'ADBLUE' on it. Ford dealership told me that it has an autonomy of 7.500 km (4.660 miles) and it also has a virtual gauge on the info screen same as the analogic gauges for water temp and fuel tank.
How often do you need to fill up AdBlue? For the average car completing 9-10,000 miles a year, you should only need to buy and refill your AdBlue once per year. This is because although different cars use different amounts of AdBlue, a typical tank will hold 15 litres of fluid, and should last around 9,000 miles.
If you drive a diesel vehicle chances are you will see the "AdBlue" service light pop up. AdBlue is a diesel emission fluid which mixes with your diesel to
Most diesel cars registered new after late 2015 will use AdBlue. To check if your car uses AdBlue: refer to the owner’s manual or contact the manufacturer or authorised distributor. look for an AdBlue filler cap next to the fuel filler (as shown), the boot or under the bonnet. check the use of ‘Blue’ or SCR in the model's name.
My concern is about the unusual circumstance which I read in this forum about the Adblue system malfunctioning for whatever reason - even though it was full; but yet disabling the car. It doesn't make any difference what the reason is, running w/o Adblue until you can get it fixed is not going to hurt the engine.
Diesel cars use a process called Selective Catalytic Reduction, working with AdBlue which you need to add to your vehicle, to lower the amount of oxides. This injects a solution into the exhaust gases which does need refilling every few thousand miles, although it’s relatively cheap at around £1.50 per litre for a dealer to top up your system
GET STARTED. The diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) light, also known as the “AdBlue” light, is a warning light that can appear on the dashboard of many diesel vehicles. This light typically illuminates when there is a problem with the DEF system, which is responsible for reducing emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx) in diesel engines.
The lower nitrogen oxide output of modern diesel engines is partly down to the use of AdBlue. While it’ll usually be topped up at a service, you might need to refill your car’s AdBlue tank
How much AdBlue do I need? The amount of AdBlue you need to use varies, depending on your vehicle, tank size and driving style. Generally, you need to use a litre of AdBlue for every 600 miles travelled by your vehicle. However, it can equally be the case that you need to use a litre of AdBlue every 350 miles — it all depends on the driver.

AdBlue is a cheap liquid that, when added to the AdBlue tank, reduces nitrogen oxide exhaust emissions. A warning light will display when it’s time to refill the tank. You can refill it at many service stations. If you don’t refill the tank, the vehicle may enter limp mode or shut off completely. If you fill the wrong tank, do not turn on
QUESTION: HOW MUCH ADBLUE DO I NEED? The amount of AdBlue you need will depend on the type of vehicle you have. If you are running a car, then a 10L will be sufficient for a refill. If your vehicle is a coach or a truck, you would benefit from purchasing a larger volume from an IBC or a barrel .
Account closed. T6 Pro. 6 Jul 2016. #2. I have the 204 engine which is very similar - we're only on 750 miles and the Adblue has gone from 4500 miles when new to 4000 then stuck there. I was a little worried about it but the engine is SO much more refined and better on fuel that the worry has gone out of the window.
Hyundai Tucson Adblue is a fluid added to cars that run on diesel to help minimize the harmful nature of car emissions. Adblue is simply the brand name for the fluid known as a diesel exhaust fluid. The AdBlue fluid is a c olorless solution of distilled water and urea, which is non-toxic and helps with emission problems.
