With this mode, a cluster of nine AF points — a box of eight secondary AF points surrounding the primary AF point selected by the user — is used to focus. It is effective for capturing erratically moving subjects. Zone AF. Point / Zone: Zone. This mode uses a group of AF points selected by the user to focus and divides the AF area into nine
Surprised about some of the feature differences from the 7D Mark II. Fewer AF points (45 vs. 65), single vs. two card capacity (no CF), and lack of joy stick. I figured these would be included in the new 6D. I understand the reasoning (distance from the 5D IV and not intended for video). Sensor: 24.2MP full-frame Dual Pixel CMOS AF II Image processor: DIGIC X Image stabilization: Up to 8 stops (lens dependent) + Movie Digital IS AF points: 4,897-point Viewfinder: 0.5-inch OLED EVF
That said, make no mistake – the comparatively unsophisticated 11-point AF system ported over from the Canon 5D Mark II is far from perfect, and will be outmatched by many modern offerings. But buying older cameras doesn't only mean paying less – it also means not having the latest and greatest feature sets and handling one might expect in
When I shoot with my Nikons and Sony cameras, I usually put on Flexible Spot: Focus Area Manual, or AF-C, single point on Nikon. When I am framing and composing, it allows me to use the joystick to move the autofocus point wherever I want without having to press a button. On the 1DX Mark II, it seems I have to press the button I have circled: Manual selection: Large Zone AF AF points can be selected separately for vertical and horizontal shooting Via LCD screen: Automatic selection: Face AIAF + Tracking, up to 63 AF points when no subject/ face detected Manual selection via touch screen or freely position 1 AF point/ 1 AF Zone (9 points, 3x3 grid). 5 Option 1: Tracking Sensitivity Set it to “Locked on” Option 2: Accel./decel. Focus and shoot/record. Aim the AF point over the subject and press the shutter button halfway. Once the subject is in focus, the AF point changes color (to green for One-Shot AF or blue for Servo AF) and the camera beeps (only for One-Shot AF). If the camera cannot focus, the AF point turns orange. Caution.

The Canon EOS 6D Mark II's AF Area options are Single-point AF (select one AF point), Zone AF (select one of 9 AF area focusing zones comprised of 9 AF points – one of three on left, 3 in center or 3 on right side), Large Zone AF (select one of 3 large AF area focusing zones – 15 AF points on left, center or right) and Auto AF point The AF system on the 5D Mark IV is also more expansive – with 16 additional AF points over the 6D Mark II. Both are equipped with Dual Pixel AF for use when recording video. Both have a useful variety of ports, WiFi and GPS built-in, and touchscreen LCDs (though the 6D Mark II’s LCD screen fully articulates). With the EOS M6 Mark II, Canon has taken its midrange mirrorless game up a notch. Offering the highest-res APS-C sensor on the market, 4K video, super-fast burst shooting and comfortable ergonomics, the M6 II is compact and a real pleasure to shoot with.

So I took my 6D II into CPS for service. It was front focusing pretty hard and I couldn't get it micro adjusted. Canon sent an invoice stating exactly "focus points are off, unit is front focusing, unit requires electrical adjustments to the AF sensor."
